Service Description

Assists in ensuring the safety and well-being of children by supporting culturally appropriate prevention and protection services. Promotes community well-being by initiating proactive program outreach initiatives in areas that include home visits, child assessment, and case development planning.

  • Child Protection Services – assists in ensuring the safety and well-being of children and provides a wide range of services to support families, meet the needs of and protect their children
  • Child Prevention Services – Promotes and supports the development and well-being of First Nations children, youth and families. Creates a foundation for children and youth to grow and reach their full potential. Protects and supports culturally relevant, permanent and nurturing relationships.
  • Alternate / Foster Care Services – people who open up their homes and schedules to include another person who may have unique and/or special needs, support the process of reunifying the family, become partners in a care plan, accepting their responsibility in the community.
  • Family Connection Services -provides the resources and support to help families to reconnect or locate family members.
  • Family Support – voluntary service providing a short-term intensive intervention by providing support and preventive services to any community members who may feel they need the services of Family Support, when they are in situations they may feel are beyond their abilities to handle.
  • Youth Development Program – supports First Nation with creating, maintaining youth programming, distributes resources, supports community in team building and prevention programming, and supports the National Aboriginal Youth Suicide Prevention Strategy.
  • Sport Program – promotes healthy lifestyles and allows youth the opportunity to enhance their physical, social, mental, and emotional abilities through participation in sport and recreation events.
